RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

The purpose of this position is to complete concrete forming and pouring with a primary focus of 
creating transformer pads, generator pads and pole bases. Additional responsibilities would include 
working under the direction of the Underground Superintendent to complete any assignments 
necessary for construction project completion. 

 

  • Capable of completing work safely based on directives from supervisor. 

  • Ensure assigned work is ready for scheduled inspections.  

  • Utilize blueprints, coordinate tasks according to current project needs, produce schedules for UG  Superintendent. 

  • Lead employees in safe equipment use and provide general knowledge of forming and pouring concrete pads and pole bases. 

  • Accurately Measure, cut, and shape wood or metal for forms, pour concrete into molds, dismantle casts without damage (for reuse), complete concrete finishing steps. 

  • Produce concrete pads and pole bases of exactly the right shape and size based on specifications. 

  • Capable of installing complete infrastructure and duct bank systems  

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of equipment operation, skills, and best practices.  

  • Possess a working knowledge of underground distribution.   

  • Compliant with safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.  

  • This position is expected to promote and participate in a team oriented, positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication. 

QUALIFICATIONS

A person in this position should possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years’ 
experience in the construction trades, preferably in electrical commercial construction. Demonstrated 
ability to work independently with minimum supervision, possess excellent leadership and 
communication skills. Knowledge of concrete construction procedures and OSHA guidelines.

• Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License. 
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. 
• Ability to work under pressure. 
• Understanding of mechanical and physical principles and ability to apply these principles to solve 
problems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position should be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift items which occasionally exceed 80 pounds. This 
position should also be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands. The work environment is 
outdoors in all type weather to include extreme heat and cold. The individual is exposed to extreme 
conditions of a construction site such as loud noise, dusty environments, moving mechanical equipment 
and regular exposure to the vibration of mechanical equipment. 

PRIMARY WORK SITE

This position will be deployed to job sites for the purpose of installing and repairing new and 
existing components associated with the underground construction process. This position will 
report directly to the Underground Superintendent.
